Why we exist
Our Mission
The mission of Neįgaliųjų bendrija „Tūkstantmečio viltis“ is to promote dignity, respect, inclusion and meaningful participation for people with disabilities.
Communities are stronger when people are recognised for their abilities, their perspectives are respected, and barriers to participation are taken seriously.
Promoting dignity
Every person is entitled to respectful treatment and to be seen as an individual — not as a diagnosis or a category.
Supporting inclusion
Inclusion means being present, being heard and having a real role. We look for ways to open doors rather than build separate rooms.
Encouraging accessibility
Physical spaces, information and events should be usable by as many people as possible. Small adjustments often make the biggest difference.
Strengthening community connections
Loneliness is a barrier too. Shared time — a choir rehearsal, a trip, a conversation — builds the belonging that sustains people.
Supporting participation
People should take part in decisions that affect their lives. We value members' voices in how the association plans its activities.
Maintaining organisational responsibility
We aim to handle resources, personal data and public trust carefully, in line with Lithuanian law and our own policies.
